RasGas Company Limited is a liquefied natural gas producing company in Qatar. It is the second-biggest LNG producer in Qatar after Qatargas. RasGas operates seven LNG trains located in Ras Laffan Industrial City.

What prompted you to contact JMJ?

Last year we conducted the teambuilding workshop with our own resources. This time we thought that it would be better to engage a professional consultant. Personally, I had participated with JMJ in a similar workshop in the U.S. and found they did an excellent job.

What did you hope to gain from the session?

We hoped to empower everyone to become a high performance team and to get everyone aligned behind one common, clear goal: that no one gets hurt.

What were the results?

We completed the Shutdown after achieving 750,000 worker-hours without a single first aid or higher incident. We accomplished what we set out to do: no one was hurt. We have come close to achieving this in previous shutdowns, but this was the first time in RasGas’s 12 year history that we have actually accomplished it.

Along with no one getting hurt, we also managed to complete the shutdown two and half days ahead of schedule. This was an important economic advantage for RasGas, literally worth millions of dollars.

Putting into practice what we learned and discussed in the workshop, we improved the team performance during this and future Shutdowns.

The overall experience was excellent. A high level of professionalism was evident throughout.

What value did JMJ add?

In summary, we can say that JMJ helped us achieve our goal of no one getting hurt. They helped us believe that it could be done, and helped us align ourselves as a single team behind this common clear goal.
