AUSTIN, TEXAS, June 1, 2018 — JMJ Associates is pleased to have been recognized by the International SOS Foundation for thought leadership in the area of corporate safety. Receiving a special mention 2018 Duty of Care Award, highlights JMJ’s leadership commitment in establishing safe work environments and setting the standards for how the world’s top organizations ensure that every employee goes home safely at the end of the day.
The International SOS Foundation Awards were announced at a gala event in Chicago on Thursday, 17 May, following the Duty of Care Summit, honouring organisations and individuals making a significant contribution to protecting their people while travelling or working remotely.
“We live the value of safety in everything we do - 24/7,” said Kevin Lagan, JMJ’s Global HSES Representative. “We take the value of health and welfare of our people home, and we share that value with every client. In turn, we hope they share it with everyone they know. Sharing these values is the very basis of JMJ – it is who we are.”
For more than 30 years, JMJ has worked to transform the very idea of safety. The SOS Foundation award recognizes JMJ’s pioneering thinking, whereby the health and welfare of every employee isn’t just an idea, it’s real.
“We’re thrilled to be honoured by the International SOS Foundation 2018 Duty of Care Award in the area of Corporate Safety,” says JMJ CEO Sue Steele. “Even more than gratifying is the recognition that safety is a tangible reality - not just a theory. JMJ has proven that eliminating workplace injury is entirely doable and we continue to help clients successfully navigate the safety leadership challenges in today’s operating environments.”
For the SOS Foundation awards, internationally recognized leaders in fields related to Duty of Care, reviewed entries representing 59 industries and organisations in 42 countries in categories including Innovation, Education, Sustainability, Thought Leadership, Communication, and more.
Arnaud Vaissié, Co-Founder, CEO & Chairman of International SOS, commented, “Fulfilling Duty of Care responsibilities is fundamental to businesses - to their long-term success and sustainability. As employers measure the impact of protecting their staff and report externally on this, they are compelled to improve and build more resilient organisations. This allows organisations to better mitigate risks, avoid crises and maintain reputations.”
