Overview of the Position
The focus of this Singapore based role is around solutions architecting, being responsible for developing and implementing fit for purpose consulting programs and procedures for delivery to JMJ’s clients, and to bring about this change within JMJ’s consulting community. The successful candidate will work in partnership with clients to define business problems and to provide guidance and solutions/outcomes through change intervention, while also focusing on developing new transformational practices within the Process Safety Management arena. This role will be responsible for the delivery of these practices and for the training and development of JMJ consultants.
In addition, the Managing Consultant will be required to consult and manage projects and have the capabilities to, lead the delivery of large/critical engagements with full accountability for day-to-day engagement management. This will include managing all engagement profitability, impact, resources, billing, consultant development, product development, proposal development and revenue.
Responsibilities
With a minimum of ten years of consulting experience and delivery of client work, the Managing Consultant will be responsible for the following (but not limited to):
- Manage large complex client engagements (or other portfolio of work) around (but not limited to) Product Safety Management (PSM) – develop and embed into JMJ offerings
- Assess, diagnose and structure client challenges and opportunities to develop fit for purpose consulting programs
- Design, deliver and evaluate said programs including skills building sessions
- Bring structured methodologies, tools and processes for change management that support the adoption of the process safety changes required
- Establish links with legislative and professional bodies with a view to contributing to National frameworks
- Provide leadership, training, coaching and support to develop other less experienced Consultants
- Achievement of the sales target as agreed with the Partner and fully utilizing the Solutions Selling process
- Persues sales with new and existing clients as well as proactively managing engagement extensions consistent with agreed Regional sales plan
- Management of large ($5m) complex client engagements including coordinating consult resources and client interfaces to ensure financial viability and timely delivery to generate expected results
- Accurate and timely forecasts in terms of billable days and consultant utilisation, maintaining the appropriate balance of employees and Associates. Develop a talent pipeline of external resources and develop and groom internal talent for succession
- Manage the validity and viability of engagements as agreed in the client/company proposal resulting in testimonials, references, referrals and success stories
- Demonstrate leadership by complying with and ensuring others comply with all internal systems including performance management, time reporting, expense policy, travel policy, delegation of authority, RAPID decision making etc.
- Provides expertise by overseeing new product development and knowledge capture by; building, leading and codifying PSM practices for global use, as well as supporting global first in regional PSAM projects
Skills and Experience
- Degree qualification or related experience
- Expertise in Process Safety Management with demonstrated proven results in developing and implementing the PSM within Operations or Transformation Consulting
- Previous experience of working in the APAC region with an understanding of its challenges/growth opportunities
- Demonstrates intellectual curiosity with a passion for furthering the professional knowledge in their particular field
- Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to transfer personal knowledge and expertise through a variety of mediums including as a platform speaker, able to contribute at small and large events, formal academic papers and social medial sites
- Excellent interpersonal skills appropriate for C-suite interactions with the ability to influence senior leaders and clients on complex and global issues
- Proven ability to work globally across geographies and time zones, dealing with multicultural issues and global business needs

Work Schedule and Mobility
The accountabilities include (however are not limited to):
- 40-hour week with occasional requirement to work additional hours during evenings or weekends to meet deadlines
- This position requires extensive travel within the region and potentially globally to support JMJ activity
