Position Summary

JMJ is looking for an experienced Accounting Assistant – Accounts Payable to join our Americas & Corporate accounting team located in Austin, TX. This position will have responsibilities for the full cycle accounts payable process and employee expenses, ensuring timely payments to vendors and maintaining vendor relationships. The Accounting Assistant will work under the direction of the Controller with a focus on ensuring that internal and external customers receive exemplary service while ensuring that accounts payable transactions are prepared accurately in a timely manner.

Expectations of the Position

Ideal candidate will have 3+ years of prior accounts payable experience and a solid ability to perform detailed transactions, analysis and reconciliations involving inter-company and multi-currency transactions with a high level of attention to detail, ability to learn and adapt to rapidly changing business environment, and a strong ability to partner and collaborate across functional teams and geographies.

General Responsibilities

• Full ownership and maintenance of A/P function
• Review and analyze expense reports and external Consultant invoices to ensure consistency with internal travel guidelines and client contract terms and conditions relating to travel.
• Code and enter accounts payable invoices, approve expense reports, and external Consultant invoices into accounting system (EPICOR)
• Maintain vendor relationships
• Process weekly payment runs
• Month-end close process
• Perform account reconciliations including, but not limited to, credit card accounts, clearing accounts, unvouchered A/P accounts, cash advances, petty cash and intercompany accounts
• Maintain filing system for accounts payable, expense reports, and external consultant invoices
• Assist in preparation of annual 1099’s for vendors
• Provide input relating to process improvements and assist in the implementation
• Special projects as needed

Required Skills

• 3+ years previous experience in all aspects of accounts payable
• Able to demonstrate the ability to work through account reconciliations
• Knowledge of MS Office applications is essential
• Previous experience with an international operation is preferred
• Previous experience with Epicor Financials is a plus
